Substantial honorarium increase

The Bihar cabinet, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has given the green light to recruit an impressive 69,692 teachers for state-run schools. The recruitment process will be overseen by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) once it completes its ongoing recruitment of 1.70 lakh teachers.

In a move to support education workers, the cabinet has also approved a substantial 100% hike in the monthly honorarium for approximately 30,000 'Siksha Sewaks' and 10,000 'Vikas Mitras' working within the state.

Empowering 'Vikas Mitras' and 'Siksha Sewaks'

The honorarium increase extends to 'Vikas Mitras' employed by the SC and ST Welfare Department in the state's panchayats. Their monthly honorarium will rise to over Rs 25,000 from the existing Rs 13,700. Furthermore, they will receive an annual increment of 5%.

'Siksha Sewaks,' who play a vital role in the education system, will see their monthly honorarium increase to Rs 22,000 from Rs 11,000, with an annual 5% increment.This decision demonstrates the Bihar government's commitment to improving the education sector by recruiting a substantial number of teachers and enhancing the financial well-being of education workers. It is a significant step toward bolstering the state's education infrastructure and ensuring quality education for its students.
